Over the last months I have been getting presents from people all over the world. Fanzines, stickers, magazines t-shirts, photos, artwork, films etc. I have been pretty bad about responding to people and e-mailing back cause I started to get confusing. For a while there were things coming every day…So I just say to all of you guys and girls THANKS!!!! I really love it and appreciate it. I have a nice collection now of little things from different scenes.
I also landed another cover of the fanzine Flatbank Quarterpipe Driveway. STOKED.
The film show was cool, a really quiet mood but people appreciated. We gathered around 40 people despite the rain and cold (well, I guess Sweden is much much colder). There were a bunch of local skateboarders but also parents with their little kids, bystanders etc. I handed out some flyers and put some on the tables so they could visit your website.
We made a “miraculous” stencil, because we wanted to make some free souvenir shirt painting in the street before the showing of the film but we did not have time to do it. Anyway, I send you the file if you are interested.
I do not have taken many pictures, because it was dark and I am a bad photographer…
Some kids want to build some concrete spots here, I will let you know if we manage to create something interesting.
Thanks again for everything and above all for giving us motivation!
Take care, hop to meet you someday
Jérôme
Thank you Jérôme for setting this up. I am stoked looks like a nice cozy bar. Thanks for the stencil, I will keep it here on my computer. Might be useful in the future. Build a spot make it happen!!!
about 2 months ago me and a few friends had some time off college, we were out skating one day and we noticed this patch of tarmac in some abandoned field, We instantly thought it would be a cool idea to make a D.I.Y spot in the week off college. The next day we baught a bag of cement and raided our parents sheds for anything usefull that we could find whitch would help make the spot, then we gave it our best shot to see what we could come up with. We have only been able to skate it once because of the bad weather we have had in england but that day was one of the most fun days i have had in a while and it was a good project that kept us occupied for that week. when this weather has moved on we are hoping to make a quater pipe next to the bank and a ledge if we can fit one in.
Thanks for reading this Pontus, below is a little video of the spot we made.
James Degnen
Hi James thanks for charing your DIY experience. This is the way to do it, find a place and just start with something. Try it out get the feeling for the material and real soon you realize how much fun it is. Get together with your crew create something and the have a session. The possibilities are endless but if you don´t start you don´t know.
I just discovered that I had 274 comments on my blog. For whatever reason these 274 comments has been flagged as SPAM??? Don´t ask me why but I just read a bunch of great comments that never made it through for whatever reason.
So all I want to say is thanks to everybody who posted a comment and supporting/reading this little blog.
I just came back from the post office and the art-supply shop. Now I will drink coffee and paint. I plan on doing a lot of painting this week.
